National Sports Day

Fiji will celebrate its first National Sports day which will be held on Friday 26th june, 2015. It is declared a National Holiday recognising the contribution of sports towards National Developement. This day is set to encourage nationbal participation in sports by all ages, genders and races. Government recognises the value of sport to the Nation and the immense contribution our sportsman and sportswomen have made. Sport is also an effective agent for unity and social change and it helps build characters of our young populace.  Government’s recognition of sport and its value as a vehicle for nation building, for promoting healthy and active lifestyles which leads to lower health costs, for social interaction in communities and for raising the profile of our nation on the world stage……..enjoy your “National Sports Day” Long Weekend…….!!!
