The Vodafone Fiji 7s team is anticipating a tough opening match against Samoa at the Paris tournament this weekend.
Coach Gareth Baber says they know very well the potential of their opponents who are guided by Sir Gordon Tietjens.
“Obviously they’ve grown in their confidence in the way they play and we have new players who will be play for the first time against Samoa but if we get our system right we will be humble enough to respect Samoa and we know they can beat us any time so we need to be on top of our game.”
Baber adds no team can be underestimated as they have the potential to upset any side regardless of their standings on the series table.
Meanwhile, Fiji will play Samoa in their first pool game at 8pm on Saturday, and will then take on Russia at 11.26pm before battling Australia its last pool match at 3.14am on Sunday……..source fbc
