The gadget fan and former QI presenter, Stephen Fry, warns people on the new developments and their effects

Stephen Fry recently warned people about the future of the internet. The former QI presenter and self-proclaimed gadget fan says “it is up to us to determine how the latest technology affected us”.

Stephen John Fry is an English comedian, actor, writer, presenter, and activist. In 2008 he appeared in a film made by the Free Software Foundation. Created to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the GNU Project. To create a completely free operating system.

In the film, Fry explains the principles of software freedom central to the development of the Linux and GNU software projects.

This Year’s Hay Festival (an annual literature festival held in Hay-on-Wye, Powys, Wales, for ten days from May to June) Fry criticized “technophobes” and said it’s important to avoid the “nightmare” scenarios envisioned by science fiction writers and TV shows.

Recently, Fry was giving one of the Festival’s “Reformations” lectures. Where he said the current technological revolution was greater than both the invention of the printing press and the industrial revolution.

“Whether it will alter the behaviour, cognition and identity of the individual in the same way that it is certain to alter the behaviour, cognition and identity of the group, is a hard question to answer.”

“But believe me when I say that it is happening. To be frank, it has happened.”
