A 44-year-old security officer of Nasinu has been convicted of one count of rape by the Suva High Court.
High Court Judge, Justice Achala Wengappuli will sentence Tui Mateo Koli this Thursday after he found guilty for raping a 22-year-old tertiary student in Naboro in 2013.
The Court was told that Koli offered the woman a lift and later made her drink alcohol.
He drove his car along a road which ran into the interior and took her to a lonely place where the incident happened.
While delivering his judgment, Justice Wengappuli said Koli then brought the woman in his vehicle to Lami town and did not stop when a Policeman signaled as the woman was crying.
The woman having seen a truck coming behind the car threw her bag out of the moving car in order to attract their attention and jumped out.
