The Rewa soccer team created history as they beat defending champions Nadi 1‑0 in the Vodafone Fiji FACT final to win the title in their home ground for the first time in 27 years.This was Rewa’s second Fiji FACT title win. Defender Samuela Kautoga scored the winning goal just after the 32nd of the first half with an excellent header that left the Nadi defense and goal keeper shell shocked. Rewa had dominated the first half with a number of good goal scoring chances created and Iosefo Verevou struck a powerful shot from just outside the Nadi penalty box which Nadi goal keeper, Vereti Dickson saved brilliantly.In the second half Nadi tried to get the equalizer but the Rewa defense led by Kautoga and Peniame Drova stood tall and did not let Nadi get the equalizer.Kautoga was also awarded the Player of the Tournament while Nadis young midfielder Afraz Ali was awarded the New Find of the Tournament.Kautoga says the team work was very good which has made it possible for them to seal the victory………congratulations rewa
