In a world where modernized ‘western’ culture reigns supreme it’s impressive to hear that traditional Fijian songs are still getting a run from time to time. Local band Makare are a powerhouse here in Fiji and Phil from the band says that one of the testaments to their success is the fact that they work to put a modern twist on a traditional sound.
