A busy weekend coming up here in Fiji with decorations going up everywhere in preparation for #Diwali, #Pinktober events around the country are also drawing to a close.
If you’re looking to get some exercise over the weekend and perhaps burn off some of that sugar you’ve consumed during #Diwali then maybe you’d consider joining the Lautoka #Pinktober fun run.
The guys from Pacific Fitness have organised a 5km fun run around lautoka this Sunday, October 30.
Sherilyn Walsh is the manager of Pacific Fitness West, I spoke to her earlier in the week and I started by asking her how this fun run came about.
The event is by gold coin donation; all proceeds are donated to the cancer council’s breast cancer appeal.
No registration needed, just show up at the Pacific Fitness gym in Lautoka by 9am Sunday. Bring the kids, bring the dog.
You can run, walk or even stroll towards Shirley park and then have a picnic at the end.
Update
About 20 people showed up this morning, dressed up in all manner of pink gear.
Malika from the Cancer Society said they were very grateful for the Support of Pacific Fitness and in her memory it was the first time a gym had got behind the Pinktober campaign.
We here at Mix couldn’t pass up the opportunity for a photo with our announcers Leonard’s mum Mrs Radrodro. Here she is with Mix’s announcer trainer, Indi.
Thanks to everyone who got involved in Pinktober event around Fiji this month.
Mix FM is proud to support a campaign that does so much good work within our communities around Fiji.
Remember, get checked early and get checked regularly. Any moment of potential embarrassment around a breast or prostrate check is better than having your life end early because you didn’t want to discuss an embarrassing issue.
