Morgan Freeman cuts sombre figure as he’s pictured for first time since step-granddaughter’s shocking death

The actor, 78, issued a heartbreaking statement within hours of the news breaking of E’Dena Hines’ death.Morgan Freeman has been pictured for the first time since his step-granddaughter’s shocking death.The actor, 78, cut a sombre figure as he returned to work on the set of new film Going In Style in New York.Keeping his head down, and surrounded by his co-stars and team, Morgan appeared very downcast as he continued to mourn the death of E’Dena Hines.

The Oscar-winning actor’s granddaughter, E’Dena, was found lying in the street by police, outside her home in New York City.


The 33-year-old – who is the granddaughter of Morgan’s first wife Jeanette Adair Bradshaw – was suffering from multiple stab wounds to her torso and was taken to hospital in Harlem where she was pronounced dead.

Her boyfriend Lamar Davenport, who allegedly killed her in a street “exorcism” , has been charged with second-degree murder.

Within hours of the attack, Freeman issued a statement saying : “The world will never know her artistry in talent, and how much she had to offer
