Matavesi wants Number 12 jersey

Flying Fijians utility Josh Matavesi wants to play at inside centre in the 2015 Rugby World Cup. The 24-year-old English born back who featured at first-five-eighth for Fiji in the Pacific Nations Cup says he is more comfortable and adjusted at the centre’s position and would love to play in that position and feed good balls to the fast wingers to finish off moves. “I am more adjusted to the centre position as I have been playing in that position for the last 3-4 years. With Ospreys I am usually playing centre but since I am a utility, I can adapt in other positions if the need arises. So far I am enjoying every bit of my experience with the Flying Fijians and to make the World Cup squad is a surely a dream come true.”
“This is my first World Cup and I am pretty excited. I missed the previous one and ensured I worked hard for this one and now I am just looking forward to the opportunity of giving my best for Fiji.”
“I know my old man- Sireli (dad) must be very happy with the news. He would be very proud and I want to play for him and my mum, my wife and my two beautiful daughters who I am currently missing a lot. My family has really been very supportive and I have my wonderful brothers here in camp who keep me occupied and focused on the task that is ahead of us.”
joshMatavesi who made his international debut for Fiji in 2009 after playing in the Junior World Cup prior to that added that though the pool they are in is classed as the pool of death, the fighting spirit and the wonderful energy of the Fijian players should see them pull some surprises against the big guns.

The Flying Fijians open their World Cup campaign against England on September 19
