Heads up Windows Phone 8.1 users

Facebook Messenger will stop working on a number of smartphones this week. From April 1, the messaging app will no longer run on devices powered by Windows Phone 8.1 or earlier. Facebook announced the change in an email to customers who will be affected by the update. Those who use an iPhone or a recent version of Android will be able to continue using the app as normal.

Facebook Messenger isn’t the only app to pull support for Windows Phone users in recent weeks. Microsoft ended Skype support for older Windows Phone devices earlier this month.
