Fiji Team on their way to London

Eroni Sau and Samisoni Viriviri are in Vanuatu sorting out their visas for France.

They are expected to join the side on their way to London.

Sevuloni Mocenacagi, Jasa Veremalua and Vatemo Ravouvou are all part of the team for the last two tournaments.

Coach Gareth Baber, says Mocenacagi has been cleared from the injury he sustained during the last leg and will add more firepower in the team.

“He is back where we need him. A rib injury is a really painful injury. It is not much you can do apart from leave and let it rest and he has done that. He did everything and it’s good to see him back.”

Dropped from the side are Isake Katonibau, Terio Tamani and Keponi Paul.

Baber says Katonibau has a personal commitment and will re join the team when they return from Paris to prepare for the World Cup.

“He has got some personal issues he is sorting out so he won’t be part of the team going to London this time. He has been given extra work to do in terms of his conditioning level but you might see his leadership qualities coming back into camp for World Cup.”

Baber has recalled Apenisa Cakaubalavu into the team and has also retained his core players for the London and Paris 7s.
