Fiji 7s team to focus on discipline and defence ahead of Las Vegas 7s

Discipline and defence continue to be a major focus for the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team ahead of the Las Vegas 7s next month.

While improvements were shown by the team in these two areas at the Hamilton 7s, statistics by World Rugby highlight that discipline and defence are still areas of concern.

The Fiji 7s team has received eight yellow cards this season.

Eroni Sau and Mesulame Kunavula have received 3 yellow cards each this season.

According to the World Rugby Statistics Hub, the Fiji 7s team misses an average of 6 tackles per match.

The Fiji 7s team makes an average of 18 tackles per match and according to World Rugby statistics only 11 of these tackles are successful.

Fiji has a winning percentage of 75% meaning it won 18 of the 24 matches played so far this season.

The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team is in Pool A with France, Russia and Kenya in the Las Vegas 7s which will be held next weekend. ….fijivillage
