Want to share some photos with someone but not give them access to your entire Facebook profile? This trick will help you out
Facebook has become our online photo album, with everything neatly cataloged and tagged. But there’s actually a way you can view any of your past albums without having to connect to the internet.
What’s more, you can send them to a friend or family member without having to add them to your friends list.
So if, for example, you’re pestered by a family member for pictures of your last weekend trip but don’t want them poring back through your entire history. This little tip could help you out. First, log in to your Facebook account and open up the album you want to either share or view offline. Then, click the “settings” option and choose “Get Link” button.
This will provide you with a URL to the photo album that you can share. Facebook will give you the option to “Send in message” but this uses the company’s own Facebook Messenger platform. So it’s no good for any recipients that don’t use it.
Alternatively, you can simply copy and paste the link and send it through an email. Your contact will get a chance to view the pictures and you won’t have to trawl back and frantically edit anything on your profile you don’t want them to see.
Facebook is also putting a lot more effort into Messenger thanks to new automatic chatbots that will read you sports results or send your location to friends you’re trying to find at an event.
