Daryl Braithwaite inducted into ARIA Hall of Fame 2017

Braithwaite said he was “honoured” to join the ARIA’s Hall of Fame.

Daryl Braithwaite will be inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame after a career spanning four decades.

The 31st Annual Australian Recording Industry Association Music Awards (generally known as ARIA Music Awards or simply The ARIAs). It was held on 28 November 2017 and was held at the Star Event Centre, Sydney around Australia.

The former Sherbet vocalist, best known for hit singles The Horses and One Summer, is no stranger to the ARIAs.

His second solo album Edge topped the Australian charts for three weeks after its release in 1988. Just a few years later, his third collection – Rise – became Australia’s biggest selling album of 1991.

Braithwaite said he was “honored” to join the ARIA’s Hall of Fame. The singer says even to this day he can’t believe so many people resonate with his music.

ARIA chief executive Dan Rosen said he was excited Braithwaite would join the likes of John Farnham, Olivia Newton-John and Jimmy Barnes.
