With just a few days remaining for the Vodafone Flying Fijians to fly out to England for the Rugby World Cup, prop Leeroy Atalifo is counting every moment with the team as a blessing. Atalifo who is one of the two local players named in the 31 man squad says he had to find out that he was named in the national side from social media. The 27-year-old adds that he did not lose hope after missing out from the Pacific Nations Cup. Meanwhile Peni Ravai is the second local player who has been selected in the squad. Yesterday the forwards were going through multiple phases of scrummaging sessions while the backline continue to polish their kicking and passing skills.
The team will leave for England next Monday.
Fiji is pooled with England, Australia, Wales and Uruguay in Pool A.
They will play a warm up match against Canada on the 6th of next month before taking on England in Twickenham in the opening match.
