Parramatta Eels star Jarryd Hayne has undergone a spiritual journey to Jerusalem, visiting the city in the hopes of strengthening his Christian faith.
He said visiting the Sea of Galilee, Mount of Olives and exploring Jerusalem city was emotionally moving.
He reached the city amid the uproar that followed US President Donald Trump’s recognising Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
He walked away from the A$1.2 million salary he stood to earn in the final year of his Gold Coast contract.
It ends a disastrous stint on the Gold Coast.
