The Google Pixel has been a solid competitor for the smartphone top spot since its launching in October 2016. A big hint has come after reports of Google offering to invest $US880 million in LG’s display business. It really isn’t that hard t figure out why the new pixel phone will include a curved screen. Samsung has pushed the limitations of phone screens with the impressive Galaxy S8 and Google no doubt wants to be as good as or better than the Samsung phone.
With smartphones reaching a bit of a design dead end (I mean, how much thinner and lighter can they really get?) the move into a curved screen seems to be the next step. Google is also believed to be boosting up the camera for the next Pixel, which could launch sometime in October or November 2017.
