The former All Blacks fullback is charged with sexually assaulting a woman on a night out in Cardiff earlier this year
The 35-year-old appeared in the Cardiff Crown Court today, where he faced one charge of sexual assault, reports news site Walesonline.
Dressed in a blue suit, he walked to his hearing alone, with a handful of camera operators waiting for him outside the court.
The alleged incident occurred following a match between his then Connacht side and the Cardiff Blues in March.
Muliaina, who now plays for Italian side Zebre, has yet to enter a plea although his lawyer has previously indicated he will deny the charge.
He has been released on bail, with a trial expected to start on February 22
The court heard he will contest the matter when a plea and case management hearing is held next month.
