Latest World Rugby rankings confirm that Fiji has moved up from tenth to ninth place after beating Samoa 39-29 in the Pacific Nations Cup final.
Australia also climbed two places to third after their 27-19 victory over the All Blacks last Saturday.
Ireland is now the second best team in the World after a comfortable 35‑21 win over Wales in a World Cup warm‑up match in Cardiff over the weekend.
The All Blacks remain the number one team.
Fiji is pooled with Wales, Australia, England and Uruguay in the Rugby World Cup.
Fiji will play England in Twickenham in the opening match at 7am Saturday 19th September.
