Music lovers create app that lets you re-create music videos
When the music video for A-ha’s Take on Me dropped in 1985 it rightly took the world by storm. Over 30 years later a technology company has developed an app. This uses augmented reality to create the same effect.
Moreover, it uses a process called “rotoscoping”. This blends live action with a pencil sketch animation. The entire video took 16 weeks to complete.
Finally, US-based Trixi Studios’ showcased it (which isn’t yet available to the general public) and put a proof-of-concept video up on YouTube.
Hopefully, they’ll take a shot at re-creating Peter Gabriel’s Sledgehammer next.
